What to do if You Have Been in a Car Accident or Collision- Tip #2

By / 0 Comments /

Document everything about your automobile collision and do not leave the scene of the accident without reporting it.

If you have a camera, take pictures. Take pictures of the vehicles, skid marks, injuries, and pictures of the area in general. If you make a claim for injuries or property damage, these pictures will be a valuable tool to aid in your case. Note the color, make, model and license tag number of the other vehicle.

Also, you should not leave the scene of the accident without providing your information. Did you know that if you leave the scene of the accident where injuries are incurred without leaving your information you risk having your driver’s license revoked? Plus, if damage or injuries incurred exceed $500, you are legally obligated to report the accident in Florida. If serious – DIAL 9-1-1 immediately. Otherwise, you can also report by calling your local sheriff, police department or highway patrol.
