By / 0 Comments /

A 12-year-old Fort White girl was killed in a car crash in Columbia County this weekend.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Megan Nicole Rigdon, 12, was a passenger in a Dodge pick-up truck, operated by Norma Jean Schenck, when it was struck by a Honda S2000 that ran a stop sign.

The impact caused the truck to roll over, resulting in the ejection of both driver and passenger. The driver of the Honda that ran the stop sign, Joshua Orndoff,  collided with a utility pole.

Tragically, the roll-over collision resulted in the fatality of Schenck’s 12-year-old passenger, Rigdon, who died at the scene. Schneck was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Orndoff was also transported with non life-threatening injuries.
